Novena in Honor of all the Archangels
Almighty God, Creator of heaven and earth, I praise and thank You, not only because You have created the visible world, but also because You have created the heavens and called the numberless spirits into being. You created them most splendidly, endowing them with proper understanding and pouring out upon them the riches of Your grace. I praise and thank You for having showered your graces upon the good Angels and rewarded them with eternal glory after the time of their successful probation. Now they surround Your throne forever, singing in jubilant accord: Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God of Hosts. Heaven and earth are full of Your Glory. Hosanna in the highest!
Glorious servants of God surrounding the throne of the Most High, I praise You for that splendour with which God has adorned you so bountifully. To you, He granted the grace to remain faithful when Lucifer and his followers rebelled. Implore for me also the grace to persevere in His holy service.
Glorious hosts of the heavenly courts, resplendent light of God’s Kingdom, protect the Church and lead her to victory over all her enemies. Angelic ministers of the throne of God, conquer all evil and lead the people of God to victory.

EPISTLE: Apocalypse 1: 1-15
R: Deo Gratias.
In those days: God signified the things which must shortly come to pass, sending by His angel to His servant John, who hath given testimony to the word of God, and the testimony of Jesus Christ, what things soever he hath seen. Blessed is he that readeth and heareth the words of this prophecy, and keepeth those things which are written in it; for the time is at hand. John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you and peace from Him that is, and that was, and that is to come; and from the seven spirits which are before His throne; and from Jesus Christ, Who is the faithful witness, the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth Who hath loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood. R: Thanks be to God.

GOSPEL: Matthew 18: 1-10
V: Dominus vobiscum. R: Et cum spiritu tuo. Sequentia sancti Evangelii secundum Matthaeum R: Gloria tibi, Domine
Væ mundo a scándalis.
V: The Lord be with you. R: And with thy spirit. The continuation of the holy Gospel according to Matthew. R: Glory to Thee, O Lord
At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, Who, thinkest Thou, is the greater in the kingdom of Heaven? And Jesus calling unto Him a little child, set him in the midst of them, and said, "Amen, I say to you, unless you be converted, and become as little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of Heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child he is the greater in the kingdom of Heaven: and he that shall receive one such little child in My name, receiveth Me; but he that shall scandalize one of these little ones that believe in Me, it were better for him that a millstone should be hanged about his neck, and that he should be drowned in the depth of the sea. Woe to the world because of scandals: for it must needs be that scandals come; but nevertheless woe to that man by whom the scandal cometh. And if thy hand, or thy foot, scandalize thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee. It is better for thee to go into life maimed or lame, than having two hands or two feet, to be cast into everlasting fire. And if thy eye scandalize thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee. It is better for thee having one eye to enter into life, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire. See that you despise not one of these little ones; for I say to you, that their angels in Heaven always see the face of My Father Who is in Heaven."
OFFERTORY: Apocalypse 8: 3-4

V: The Lord be with you. R: And with thy spirit. An angel stood near the altar of the temple, having a golden censer in his hand: and there was given to him much incense: and the smoke of the perfumes ascended before God, alleluia.

Antiphon Ps 103 (102): 20
Benedícite Dóminum, omnes Angeli eius, poténtes virtúte, qui fácitis verbum eius, ad audiéndam vocem sermónum eius.
Bless the Lord, all you his angels, mighty in power, fulfilling his word and heeding his voice.
Collect
O God, who dispose in a marvelous order ministries both angelic and human, graciously grant that our life on earth may be defended by those who watch over us as they minister perpetually to you in heaven. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
First Reading (option 1) Dn 7:9-10, 13-14
As I watched: Thrones were set up and the Ancient One took his throne. His clothing was bright as snow, and the hair on his head as white as wool; His throne was flames of fire, with wheels of burning fire. A surging stream of fire flowed out from where he sat; Thousands upon thousands were ministering to him, and myriads upon myriads attended him. The court was convened, and the books were opened. As the visions during the night continued, I saw One like a son of man coming, on the clouds of heaven; When he reached the Ancient One and was presented before him, He received dominion, glory, and kingship; nations and peoples of every language serve him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that shall not be taken away, his kingship shall not be destroyed
First Reading (option 2) Rev 12:7-12ab
War broke out in heaven; Michael and his angels battled against the dragon. The dragon and its angels fought back, but they did not prevail and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. The huge dragon, the ancient serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, who deceived the whole world, was thrown down to earth, and its angels were thrown down with it.
Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have salvation and power come, and the Kingdom of our God and the authority of his Anointed. For the accuser of our brothers is cast out, who accuses them before our God day and night. They conquered him by the Blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; love for life did not deter them from death. Therefore, rejoice, you heavens, and you who dwell in them.”
RESPONSORIAL PSALM Ps 138:1-2ab, 2cde-3, 4-5
R.In the sight of the angels I will sing your praises, Lord.
I will give thanks to you, O Lord, with all my heart, for you have heard the words of my mouth; in the presence of the angels I will sing your praise; I will worship at your holy temple and give thanks to your name.
R.In the sight of the angels I will sing your praises, Lord.
Because of your kindness and your truth; for you have made great above all things your name and your promise. When I called, you answered me; you built up strength within me.
R.In the sight of the angels I will sing your praises, Lord.
All the kings of the earth shall give thanks to you, O Lord, when they hear the words of your mouth; And they shall sing of the ways of the Lord: “Great is the glory of the Lord.”
R.In the sight of the angels I will sing your praises, Lord.
Gospel Acclamation Ps 103:21
R.Alleluia, alleluia.
Bless the Lord, all you his angels, his ministers who do his will.

GOSPEL Jn 1:47–51
Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and said of him, “Here is a true child of Israel. There is no duplicity in him.” Nathanael said to him, “How do you know me?” Jesus answered and said to him, “Before Philip called you, I saw you under the fig tree.” Nathanael answered him, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel.” Jesus answered and said to him, “Do you believe because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree? You will see greater things than this.” And he said to him, “Amen, amen, I say to you, you will see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.”
